楽 (tanoshi) - enjoy:

笑 (warau) - laughter

Sent from that tiny store (atelier?) in Daikanyama where you have to take your shoes off  but can't take photographs.

I think the girl who runs the place  lives upstairs. She is so gentle and charming.

As she was wrapping my bowl, I asked about the kanji signs. She made a note for me on a little piece of paper:

笑 (warau) - laughter

楽 (tanoshi) - enjoy

I wondered whether "warau" is closer to "laughter" or "smile." She was not sure.

We smiled and then laughed.

As I was putting my boots on, she asked me to come back.
